Rideau Awards: important deadlines and new submission option

With the end of the 2017-18 season upon us, there are several deadlines coming up. Read on for details about an important change for “Behind the Rideau” nominations — artists are now invited to self-nominate — as well as deadlines and procedures for 2018-19 show submissions and Emerging Artists nominations.
Behind the Rideau Nominations

New this year: in order to increase the opportunity for deserving candidates to be considered for the Behind the Rideau Awards, eligible theatre artists are invited to nominate themselves for this award. Of course, producers are also still encouraged to make nominations of worthy candidates who worked on their productions.

In either case, letters of nomination outlining the recommended candidate and their reasons for nomination must be emailed to juryen@prixrideauawards.ca no later than July 1st. For more details on the Behind the Rideau Award: prixrideauawards.ca/terms-and-criteria/
Invitation to submit 2018-19 productions for PRA consideration – by June 18th if possible
Submissions for the 2018-2019 season are now open! Go to prixrideauawards.ca/online-submission-form/
Note that the deadline to guarantee your production can be considered has been extended from June 15th to June 18th.

But "what if I don't have all the information yet?" you say. No worries. Submit your production and update the information when you have it.

But "what if I'm waiting for funding approvals?" No worries. Submit your production so we know it is coming, and then confirm with us when you get the grant results.

But "Can I still submit after June 18th?" Yes. June 18th is the date when we set the calendar for jurors and ask them to confirm their attendance to productions. However you can still submit after that date.  Very often the required minimum number of jurors can still attend. Just remember to give the Prix Rideau Awards as much lead info as possible, and put the odds in your favour.
