Annual General Meeting 2018: A Year in Review

It has been an exciting year of growth and expanding reach for the Council.

This year's AGM, on Tuesday, June 19, was held in the Studio of the brand new Ottawa Art Gallery.

Looking back, the Council achieved many ambitious outcomes and continued to work closely with partners on ongoing projects:

Advocacy

  • The Council made presentations and connected to our municipal, provincial and federal representatives at key moments.
  • The Council was active in the lead up to the provincial election, in partnership with Ontario Nonprofit Network (ONN) and Ontarians for the Arts.

  • The Council has expanded its reach across all social media platforms and has engaged audiences with email campaigns and the website.

  • The #CouncilSpotlight campaign, original content featuring past award winners, was a particularly popular initiative.

Strategic Plan

  • The Council presented a condensed version of its strategic plan.
  • The Council reaffirmed its vision, mission, belief statements and values.
  • The Council also set its Strategic Priorities And Strategies and Organizational Excellence and Strategies.

Election of Board Members

  • Several board members recommitted to their roles.
  • The Council welcomed two new board members, Derek Eyamie and Frena Hailekiriros.
