About the finalists

Stephen R Coleman

Stephen R. Coleman

Stephen R. Coleman’s artistic career began unexpectedly during a mental health crisis as he experienced profound empathy and compassion for those suffering in the world around him. Stephen always had a passion for storytelling, photography and even directed/produced and sold several commissioned short films, but his artistic career had been secondary to Network Engineering until 2018. After 3 years of production, Coleman took a leap of faith leaving his full-time job and entirely self-funding his first feature, Project Cold Days. Since then, Project Cold Days has moved audiences at Ottawa City Hall, Parliament Hill, various homeless shelters and airs Nationally on CBC this March.
