2018 Recipient of the Business and the Arts Recognition Award

The Business and the Arts Recognition Award was awarded to Michael Curran, publisher for the Ottawa Business Journal and president of Great River Media, at the Arts Awards Presentation on evening of May 29, 2018, where he was presented with a limited edition print from Geraldine Taylor’s Experimental Farm series, as well as an annual membership to the Ottawa Arts Council. The award was initiated in 1994 to recognize and encourage support from Ottawa’s business community to the local arts sector. 

The Ottawa Business Journal (OBJ) is recognized for supporting the arts in Ottawa through media sponsorship, as well as arts and events coverage in the region. The OBJ has been a media sponsor for the Artpreneur Ottawa Conference since 2013, providing coverage and ad space to promote the conference to the Ottawa arts sector. Their support facilitates the participation high level of business experts, providing legitimacy to the sector by linking the business community and the arts.
The Ottawa Business Journal was nominated by AOE Arts Council.
